
Board Members
Robert Buchinski, M.Ed.
Robert has been developing online training products for over 15 years.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the Pennsylvania State University, a master’s
degree in business from Central Michigan University and an M.Ed in Educational Technology
from San Diego State University. He is a national conference speaker for online training
techniques and is the recipient the 2005 ISPI Award of Excellence for outstanding
training intervention.
He has developed training applications for leading technology firms including: Hewlett
Packard, Oracle Systems, Intel, and Perot Systems. He is a member of ASTD and the eLearning
Guild. Robert is a strong leader with experience in forming organizations. His leadership is
the driving force behind the formation of the KeelWorks foundation.
Donald Duncan
Donald holds a BA in History and secondary teaching from University of California
Santa Barbara. In 1999 he completed a learning disability credential and resource specialist
credential from Sacramento State University.
Donald has been an educator for twenty-eight years. During this tenure,
Donald was a title IV tutor for Native American students in Montana, taught religious and
social studies in Catholic high school, and charter schools. He also taught emotionally
disturbed and probation students in community schools.
Most recently, he is teaching special education at the K-8 level and at a continuation high school.
Donald's first-hand experience is exclusively with the learners targeted by KeelWorks.
He brings significant insight into the psychology of this target audience.
Don is a talented musician and composer who loves to perform with his band One
Sharp Mind as a form of creative expression.
Thomas Garrod, M. Ed.
Thomas Garrod is an organizational development and learning
consultant for Intel, Boeing, IBM, AT&T, Humana, Microsoft, and the occasional small
business.
A senior instructional systems designer (10 yrs) and a senior judge for
annual Brandon-Hall Excellence in Learning awards (5 yrs), Thomas
develops with Flash, Captivate, Articulate, and Flex, and codes in several programming
languages.

- 3 yrs in-patient psychiatry (VA)
- 7 yrs business-to-business sales
- 6 yrs business management
Thomas is a graduate of Cappella University with a master's in Education. He has
a BS degree in Legal Administration. The inspriation for KeelWorks is Thomas's experience as a high school drop-out.
James Hanlon
James holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Montclair State University. He came to us originally as an intern for his Master’s of Education degree at Jones International University. In his internship, James completed an assessment of the KeelWorks technology needs. He continues as the director of KeelWorks Instructional Systems.
James has worked in the field of information technology specializing in educational systems for the cable industry. He has also worked with medical systems. James also brings a strong background in video production.
Like Thomas and Robert, James currently works as an instructional systems analyst and project manager. HIs day job is with Brighthouse Networks, a regional cable company. He is responsible for analyzing, designing, developing, and evaluating eLearning for technical audiences. He develops courseware using Captivate and has an extensive knowledge in photography, videography, and webcasting.
Stephen Jones. Ph.D.
Dr. Stephen Jones is an outstanding educator who has spent his career
helping economically disadvantaged students to succeed in college. Dr. Jones received his
Bachelors Degree in Community Psychology from Widener University, Masters in Education from
Howard University, Masters in Business Administration from Philadelphia University, and a
Doctorate in Education from Widener University. He has been instrumental in helping thousands
of students to realize their dream to earn a degree.
For twenty years, Dr. Jones has delivered presentations on numerous topics including how to
study, leadership, effective communication, and innovative management practices. He is the author
of a book titled “Seven Secrets of How to Study.” The book provides an easy understanding of the
seven pillars that are essential to learning effective study techniques.
After twenty years of working in higher education, he decided to create a tool to help students
to achieve their goal to graduate. Working with students has enabled Dr. Jones to have a complete
understanding of the challenges they are facing.
Vern Pederson
Vernon Pederson has a BA in Psychology, more than ten years in primary and
secondary teaching, experience supporting substance abuse program participants and mental health
program participant education. Vernon also has substantial experience supporting alternative education
programs. Vernon’s first hand experience is almost exclusively focused on underachieving learners.
He brings significant insight into the psychology of our target audience.
Smitha Mohan Reddy Edulakanti, PhD
Dr. Edulakanti holds Bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering from Jawaharlal
Nehru Technological University, India. She holds her Master’s degree in Electronics and Computer Technology and a Doctoral
degree in Curriculum, Instruction and Media Technology from Indiana State University. In 2009 her
doctoral research was published as a monograph titled “Developing, Implementing and Evaluating Computer-based Instruction."
Smitha joined KeelWorks in 2009 and has been instrumental in the formation of instructional design internships. With her active support we have ISD process and seven teams of international students all working to develop core competency learning for the KeelMid program. Smitha is a key player at KeelWorks.
